Phascope Paint

Easy, Convenient, Fast and Non-destructive Coating Thickness Measurements with Phascope Paint and Smart Phone or Tablet (operation system Android 4.3 or higher, iOS coming soon)

The measurements with the Phascope Paint conform to standards DIN EN ISO 2360, ASTM D7091, DIN EN ISO 2178 and DIN EN ISO 21968.

FMP10-40 Series

The Phascope Paint is a probe in pen design. Measure non-destructive coating thickness of non-conductive coating materials on steel or iron and on non-ferrous metals by using the Phascope Paint.

Use the probe Phascope Paint for measurement capturing. Use the App Phascope Paint for viewing, analyzing and reporting data on your smart phone or tablet.

Features

top
  • Ideal for on-site applications due to the small size, light weight, robust and durable probe design
  • Easy operation of the App Phascope Paint on smart phone or tablet
  • Manufacturer's certificate for the Phascope Paint included in the scope of supply
  • Specimen's shape and permeability have a comparatively low influence on the measurement results
  • Conductivity compensation for measurements on non-magnetic substrate materials
  • Applicable for measurements on both smooth and rough surfaces
  • Two measuring modes available:
    • Single value mode: Automatic measurement capture after placing the Phascope Paint on the surface and display the measuring reading
    • Continuous mode: Scanning surface area with the Phascope Paint and free running display. Measured readings are displayed continuously while scanning surface area. Manual measurement capture is possible.

Technical Data
Block Size: Presetting: 2 up to 20 single readings per block or manual setting of block separation
Tolerance Limits: Adjustable per batch
Unit of Measurement: Selectable between dimensions metric (mm, µm) or imperial (inch, mils)
Measuring Modes: Single value mode: Automatic measurement capturing after placing the probe Phascope Paint on the surface and display of the measurement value in the App
Continuous mode: Measured readings are displayed continuously in the App Phascope Paint during scanning surface area by probe. Measurements must be captured manually.
Measuring Frequency: More than 70 measurements per minute
Normalization: Adaption to the base material and the shape of specimen
Calibration: Factory calibration - Each individual Phascope Paint is factory calibrated at several reference points with the greatest care to ensure the highest possible degree of trueness
Corrective calibration - Adaption to the substrate material and the shape of specimen and to a thickness value using a calibration foil.
Evaluation: Display of mean value, standard deviation, min. value, max. value, number of measurements per block, histogram
Language: English, German, French
Data Memory: Max. 10,000 individual readings
Measurement Ranges: Steel, iron, cast iron base materials (Fe)

0...2700 µm / 0...106 mils
Non-ferrous metal base materials (NF)

0...2700 µm / 0...106 mils

Applications

top
  • Incoming goods, paint thickness measurement on a variety of different samples
  • Quality assurance, measurement of samples during production or in car paint shops
  • Inspections, whether construction or corrosion protection: fast measurment on the road
  • Paint, varnish or plastic coatings on steel, iron or cast iron (NC/Fe)
  • Paint, varnish or plastic coatings on aluminum, copper or brass (NC/NF)
  • Anodized coatings on aluminum - the probe has a conductivity compensation feature so different electrical conductivities, particularly various aluminium alloys, have no effect on the coating thickness measurement

Data Analysis on the Go

top
  • Easy to use app leads you through the calibration

  • Analyze and visualize your data

  • Set tolerance limits

  • No data-transfer to the computer needed

  • Add a photo and a description of your measuring spot to the report

  • Email your reports as a PDF
